SAM Research
The Statistical and Applied Mechanics group is a unique combination of analytical, numerical and experimental expertise applied to research in biomaterials, biomimetic systems, polymer microdevices, biomechanics and mechanobiology. Our strongly synergistic expertise and application areas enable us to attack important, challenging problems at the intersection of medicine, basic science, and engineering.
Our Goal:
To solve important problems in biology, medicine, and design by leveraging our expertise in Statistical and Applied Mechanics with collaborative, cutting-edge research in medicine, biomedical engineering, chemistry and biology.
Our Capabilities:
This highly diverse research group has broad mechanics expertise, with the common thread of soft materials research; we have extensive experience in modeling and experimentation on biomaterials and polymers at all length scales and in applications ranging from mechanobiology to microdevice design.
